November 20, 2023

Dear Frost Families,

As we prepare for Thanksgiving Break, the Frost Staff and I wanted to extend our gratitude to all of you for your support and the opportunity to work with your child on a daily basis.  Your partnership has been essential to ensure student success at Frost and we are extremely proud of our devoted students throughout the year thus far.

As a reminder, Fall Conferences will take place on Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21. Although there is no school on these days, students are highly encouraged to attend conferences with their families. Students also completed their Fall Conference reflection slides this week, so please take time to review this information with your student. We look forward to further connecting with many Frost families next week!

Fall Conferences

Conferences are Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21.  For each conference you have signed up for there is a 15-minute window.  The first ten minutes have been allocated for your conference, with the remaining five minutes designated as travel time to attend your next conference.  We ask that you please limit your conference to these first ten minutes out of respect for other families that are waiting to conference at their scheduled time.

If more time is needed, your child’s teacher will look to schedule another time to connect and continue the conversation.  Lastly, students are highly encouraged to attend all conferences! We look forward to seeing many Frost Families next week!

Frost Book Fair
The Frost Book fair is coming! The book fair is open to students during school hours from November 13 through November 17, 2023.  Parents and students will be able to browse and purchase items during parent/teacher conference times on Monday and Tuesday, November 20 & 21.

New this year:  You can put money into a Scholastic e-wallet for your child to buy books from the book fair!  You can also shop online beginning November 10, 2023.  In order for Robert Frost to profit from your online purchases, you will need to shop from this link:  https://shop.scholastic.com/parent-ecommerce/fair-2.html.  All proceeds benefit the students at Robert Frost!

District 54 Virtual Backpack
District 54 shares information about community events with our students and families through our Virtual Backpack.  We know that parents are interested in extracurricular activities. At the same time, we don’t want the homework, letters from the teachers, school news and other important district information to get lost among the countless other pieces of paper in our students’ backpacks.  Please click here for additional information.

No Food Deliveries Allowed
With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including, but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools. We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school or PTA volunteers. However, we will no longer accept other outside food deliveries to keep our schools secure.
