It was another fantastic week at Frost and the Frost Staff wanted to extend their gratitude to our students for their connection and engagement throughout the first weeks of school. We also wanted to thank our students, staff, and community for your patience, flexibility, and support with the unexpected challenges encountered this week!

Picture Day

Frost Homework Communication
Frost has implemented a homework spreadsheet, located on the Frost website, to assist students and families with a weekly snapshot of homework assignments. Beginning the week of Sept. 2, families will also be notified via email if your student has missing multiple assignments each week. Please reach out to your student’s teachers for any content specific questions.
After School Academic Support
Students are encouraged to participate in after school academic support beginning on Monday, September 9 as needed. Please see the following content support schedule for your reference:
- Monday – Language Arts
- Tuesday – Math
- Thursday – Science / Social Studies

Pizza Sales
Every Tuesday and Thursday starting Thursday, September 5 we will serve Old Town Pizza for interested students. Pizza is $3 per slice and sold during lunch hours.
School Hours
School hours are 7:40 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. with the entry bell ringing at 7:30. Please note: Every Wednesday is designated for staff development. Students are dismissed 30 minutes early at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Office Hours and Student Absences
Frost office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please remember that our student absence line (847-357-6802) is available 24 hours a day. If your child will be absent from school, please call no later than 7:00 a.m. to report an absence.
Frost Arrival/Dismissal Locations
When students arrive on campus, they will be directed to enter one of the following doors and proceed to their first period class:
- Inside row of buses: Enter Door 1 / Main Entrance
- Outside row of buses: Enter Door 2 / West Entrance
- Parent Drop Off/Walkers: Enter Door 13 / East Entrance
- Arrival / Drop Off – Please use both lanes of traffic for drop-off to allow additional cars to access our parking lot in an efficient manner
- Dismissal / Pick Up – Please use the right lane of traffic for pick up to allow cars to exit the parking lot upon student pickup during dismissal
- Please avoid making any left hand turns out of the Frost parking lot at Arrival/Dismissal
All entrances to the building will open at 7:30 am and any students arriving after 7:40 am will enter through Door 1 and check in with the main office.
Supervision and Behavior Expectations for Athletic Events at Conant and Schaumburg High School
When attending athletic events, the safety and well-being of all event attendees is the priority. Please refer to the attached letters from Schaumburg and Conant high schools regarding their practice for junior high school students attending their sporting events.
Support the D54 Foundation by dining at Village Tavern on September 18
Join us on September 18, 2024, for a Dine to Donate event at Village Tavern & Grill in Schaumburg! From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., 20% of your bill will be donated back to the District 54 Education Foundation when you dine in or carry out. To ensure your purchase counts towards the donation, simply present the event flyer (Village Tavern Dine to Donate Flyer) to your server along with a copy of your bill at the time of payment. Copies of the flyers are also available in the school office. Please note, this offer is not available for online orders. Enjoy a delicious meal while supporting a great cause!

School District 54 Job Fair – September 10
We are so grateful to the amazing individuals who support our students and our staff by serving as paraprofessionals, custodians and substitute teachers – and we need more of you to help ensure the success of all students.

Want to learn more about what the job entails, how to apply and why working in District 54 is so rewarding? Join us for the District 54 Job Fair from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. or 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the District 54 Professional Learning Center (522 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg). Collaboration: The Key to Success for Multilingual Learners in District 54
You are invited to join us on September 17, 2024 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. as District 54’s Multicultural Parent Advisory Council presents a session for parents entitled “Collaboration: The Key to Success for Multilingual Learners in District 54.” We will review how English Learners are identified in District 54 and discuss the information that ACCESS test scores provide regarding your student’s learning. We will also share tips for preparing for your child’s conference and review evidence-based funding in District 54. Translators will be available.
To sign up for the session, please complete the Collaboration event registration form by Monday, September 16. If you have any questions regarding the meeting, please feel free to contact the Department of Language and Culture at (847) 357-5150.
E-Learning Public Hearing Notice
The District 54 School Board will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 to discuss proposed plans for utilizing e-learning during some emergency school closure days. The meeting will take place in the Board Room at the Rafferty Administration Center, 524 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.
The current calendar year is set to end on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. In the event of emergency closings, the first two closures would be traditional cancellations. Additional days (up to three), would follow the eLearning structure. This would ensure the last day of school ends no later than Friday, May 30, 2025.
No Food Deliveries Allowed
With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including, but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools. We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school or PTA volunteers. However, we will no longer accept other outside food deliveries to keep our schools secure.
20th Annual Run to Read – September 22
Join the District 54 Education Foundation, School District 54 and our Title Sponsor, Northwest Ballet Academy, at the 20th annual Run to Read on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Dirksen School. This event will include a 5K run/walk, a 1-mile walk and children’s races. This year the event will be hosted by the District 54 Education Foundation. The District 54 Education Foundation is committed to providing support to children from financially struggling families in our district. With this change in host, all funds raised this year will be used to support programs for these families. By meeting the basic needs of students, they are preparing students to be successful at school, thus the name Run to Read still applies.
