Dear Frost Families,
It was a great first week in return from Winter Break and the Frost Staff is so excited to continue building connection, engagement, and support with our Spartans! All of the positive work established this fall will allow us to remain invested and display a true Frost Strong effort in the New Year.
We greatly appreciate the continued partnership with our parents to ensure student success, and we will continue to work diligently to align our actions through an unwavering focus on High Achievement and Positive Culture.
Graduation Gowns and Medals
We are excited for our upcoming 8th grade graduation this spring. Although details have not been finalized for graduation at this time, we will ensure to inform the community once additional information has been received from the District. All students planning to attend 8th grade graduation will need to purchase a graduation gown through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
Please see the instructions below for more details:
- Please visit our “School Store” on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Once families click on the “School Store” tab, all graduation gown ordering information will be posted.
- The cost for purchasing a gown will be $17 per student. If you prefer to pay via check, please make checks payable to: Frost Jr. High School. All checks can be dropped off in the Frost Main Office.
- Please note that District 54 schools do NOT wear caps in our graduation ceremonies.
- A Frost graduation medal will also be given to each 8th grade student at no cost. Thank you to the Frost PTA for their gracious purchase for our students.
- Please contact our Main Office at 847-357-6800 with any additional questions or if you prefer to use an older siblings gown for the graduation ceremony.
The store will open on Friday, January 10 and will close on Friday, March 21.
8th Grade Elective Requests – Current 7th Grade Students Only
Current 7th grade students are able to select their electives through Infinite Campus for the 25-26 school year beginning on Monday, January 13. Click HERE for more information regarding how to enter your electives through Infinite Campus once the window opens. Families can also visit our website to learn more about elective classes.
All elective choices must be selected by Friday, January 24, 2025.
Please note that scheduling students is a complex process with over 740 students. We will try our best to give students both electives, but this may not always be possible. Students who demonstrate a pattern of falling below the 40th percentile on the reading or math NWEA assessment will be provided an acceleration course in lieu of an elective. If you have any questions, please contact the Frost Main Office at 847-357-6800.

Frost Arrival/Dismissal Locations
Arrival and Dismissal at Frost often is a slow process due to the size of the parking lot, so please continue to display patience and civility when entering the school zone. Please note that the parking lot to the YMCA is now closed permanently.
When students arrive on campus, they will be directed to enter one of the following doors and proceed to their first period class:
- Inside row of buses: Enter Door 1 / Main Entrance
- Outside row of buses: Enter Door 2 / West Entrance
- Parent Drop Off/Walkers: Enter Door 13 / East Entrance
- Arrival / Drop Off – Please use both lanes of traffic for drop-off to allow additional cars to access our parking lot in an efficient manner
- Dismissal / Pick Up – Please use the right lane of traffic for pick up to allow cars to exit the parking lot upon student pickup during dismissal
- Please avoid making any left hand turns out of the Frost parking lot at Arrival/Dismissal
All entrances to the building will open at 7:30 am and any students arriving after 7:40 am will enter through Door 1 and check in with the main office.

Your insight as a parent/guardian is essential in creating the most well rounded picture of your student’s strengths and opportunities for growth. To gather your perspective, District 54 will send families of students in grades 3-8 an email link for each child to the District 54 Personal Assessment of Core Competency Survey on Monday, January 6. District 54 Severe Weather Response Plan
In order to help parents better prepare for the severe cold weather and snow we often get during winters in our community, please review the District 54 Severe Weather Response Plan. Additional information regarding school cancellations can be found HERE.
District 54 Virtual Backpack
District 54 shares information about community events with our students and families through our Virtual Backpack. We know that parents are interested in extracurricular activities. At the same time, we don’t want the homework, letters from the teachers, school news and other important district information to get lost among the countless other pieces of paper in our students’ backpacks. Please click here for additional information.
No Food Deliveries Allowed
With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including, but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools. We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school or PTA volunteers. However, we will no longer accept other outside food deliveries to keep our schools secure.
