2020 Grad Sign 2020

Dear Eighth-Grade Families,

It is with mixed feelings that we say farewell to our eighth-grade students this year. On the one hand, we will miss them and it is unfortunate we were not able to provide the usual eighth-grade celebrations. On the other hand, we are so excited for them to move on to high school. During these last six weeks, our students have continued to remain engaged, showing their resilience and positive spirit. We expect great things from our Spartans and they have displayed what it truly means to be Frost Strong!

Due to the mandated school closure, we will be hosting eighth-grade graduation as a virtual celebration. Visit our school website at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, to check out the graduation celebration video. During this celebration, we will have student speakers, show a video of peak moments, and list every student’s name. Students interested in submitting and videotaping a speech for the celebration should contact their language arts teachers for additional details.

Some of you have asked about graduation gowns, diplomas, and yearbooks. We are working with vendors, trying to secure these items before the end of the school year. Of course, many businesses have been impacted during this pandemic, so please be patient and we promise to keep you posted. We are also working on a schedule for students to return to school to clean out their lockers and drop off their Chromebooks, textbooks, and other district property while following social distancing protocol. I will send a follow-up email to all families soon.

For some of you this may be your last year as a parent in District 54 as well. Thank you for your partnership in serving the children in this great community, and please contact me with any additional questions.

Sincerely,

C.J. Schmid

Principal
