PBIS Site for U.S. Secretary of Education to Visit
In early July, the Illinois PBIS Network was asked by the U.S. Department of Education-Office of Special Education Programs to recommend schools for the U.S. Secretary of Education (Arne Duncan) to visit this fall. The criteria for recommendations included good schools in general, but also good schools for children with disabilities. The PBIS Network submitted three schools based on success with PBIS implementation, gains in behavior/literacy or both, and benefits for students with disabilities. Frost was one of the three schools recommended for Secretary Duncan to visit.
