Frost Ranked in Top 100 Illinois Middle Schools
The Chicago Sun-Times ranks the top performing schools in Illinois each year. For the first time that I can tell, Frost is in the top 100! We are actually ranked the number 49 middle school in Illinois and the number 44 middle school in the Chicago area. This is another amazing accomplishment that is a credit to our great students, staff, and community.
You can read the full explanation of how the rankings are compiled on the Chicago Sun-Times website, but I thought I’d briefly explain how our results are even more impressive than our current ranking in this article. The Sun-Times scores are based on an average of math and reading scores. This formula has its advantages and disadvantages, but it does bias schools with magnet programs as evidenced by the top four schools being CPS magnet schools. These schools use test scores for student enrollment.
